This one from everyone's favorite chemistry Nobel laureate is basically all photochemistry. If you like his stuff, you should check it out. The 1.1.1 bromination is made via light and there's a smattering of couplings with it, both CN and CC.
They go on to postulate that you could make things like the below picture via successive decarboxylative couplings (which would be freakin awesome btw) but they don't actually reduce it to practice.
