This is another one from Merck. Those guys love them some Blue Light.

How Bad is it?

Oh it's so bad, it's DBAD ! This one has two very different photoreactions. The first is a bit of a rarity: A cerium catalyzed photoreaction? Yeah, sure why not.

And the second takes place in the more familiar nickel / Iridium milieu:

Very creative disconnection they use this iodide to make the trifluoroborate.
